요즘미술

‘요즘미술’은 작가중심으로 이루어진 공간으로 현재 언저리 시간에서 살아가는 이야기를 다루는 예술가들이 전시하고 연구하고 교육하는 곳입니다. ‘요즘미술’의 전시는 특이한 재능보다 특별한 태도를, 완결된 작품보다 진행형 작업을 귀하게 여깁니다. 최신을 좇는 조급한 마음보다 느릿하더라도 요즘 고민들을 풀어놓고 섬세한 감각과 날카로운 시선을 지닌 작가들의 프로젝트를 존중하는 전시공간이 되고자 합니다.

Art these days

Art these days is an artist-run space where artists working with the subject of living in present times exhibit, research, and educate. Exhibitions at Art these days value unique attitudes rather than special talents and ongoing projects rather than completed works. Instead of rushing after the latest trends, Art these days aims to become an exhibition space that respects projects with delicate sensibilities and sharp perspectives, unfolding today’s concerns at each artist’s pace.

요즘미술 연구소

‘요즘미술’에서는 연구와 교육을 중요한 사업으로 삼아 별도의 ‘요즘미술 연구소’를 만들었습니다. 박용석, 황귀영 공동소장 2인은 동시대 예술가들의 활동에 대하여 공부하며 직장, 돌봄 등으로 어려움을 겪는 예술가들의 현실문제도 함께 고민하면서 전시 기획 및 교육 프로그램 제작과 실행을 통해 동시대 예술에 대한 해석과 저변을 확대해 나갑니다.

Lab for Art these days

Art these days has established Lab for Art these days with research and education as its core program. The two co-directors, PARK Yong-seok and Guiyoung Hwang, research contemporary artists’ activities and reflect on the actual problems of artists struggling with work, care, etc., while planning and implementing exhibitions and educational programs to broaden the interpretation and understanding of contemporary art.

요즘미술일층

‘요즘미술일층’은 혜화로의 카페를 개조한 약 30평 규모의 대관용 예술공간입니다. 전시, 공연, 팝업 및 촬영 스튜디오에 이르기까지 다양한 형태로 활용하실 수 있습니다. 요즘의 이야기를 담아내는 예술가를 환영합니다.

Art these days 1F is an art space for rent, approximately 100 square meters(30 pyong), converted from a café in Hyehwa-ro, Seoul. You can use this space for various artistic purposes including exhibitions, performances, pop-up stores, and shooting studios. We welcome artists who wish to share the stories these days.
